The Los Angeles Ride for Kids celebrated its 24th event by raising more than $125,500 for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation on May 3. Why We Ride was on hand to support the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
There were about 700 supporters gathered for the event at presenting sponsor, American Honda’s headquarters in Torrance, CA.
The event honored local brain tumor survivors Amanda, David, Dylan, Elise, Ethan, Lisa, Michelle and Yverline. Many of these Stars led the ride around South Bay and along the Palos Verdes Estates Peninsula, with scenic views of the Pacific Ocean.
“I know one day in my life we’ll see a world with no brain tumors,” said Star Michelle, who helped PBTF President and CEO Robin Boettcher present an award to Honda for their 25 years of support. “I’m happy to say that in two days I will be a 17-year pediatric brain tumor survivor,” Michelle said. “I want to thank American Honda for being the light that has rekindled our hearts.”
It was announced that the LA Ride for Kids raised $125, 506 in donations. The event is still collecting donations online.
Remember that through the month of May, Brain Tumor Awareness Month, Why We Ride is donating $5 from every DVD sold through the online store, to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
